Otara Gambling Action Group (OGAG)
Our Mission Statement:
We aim to promote the welfare and wellbeing of Otara by being the voice of the community to minimise the impact of problem gambling.
Our Purpose as follows:
- Anti Gambling Group
- Advocacy
- Focus on Pokies and venues in the Otara Community
- Reduce the harm of gambling within the Otara community
The Otara Gambling Action Group was originally formed 3 years ago as part of the Manukau City Council community consultation on the Gambling Venue Policy. The group however didn’t continue after the consultation process and after 3 years some original members called for the group to be rejuvenated
A presentation was made to the Otara Community network meeting in July 2006 and our first OGAG meeting was held on Thursday 03/08/06. OGAG meets on the first Monday of each month.
